Below are JCHE activities and service opportunities:
Members serving on an event committee will help plan and coordinate the event. Many hands make light work, and tasks will be delegated among committee members during the planning of the event.
For next year’s Kick-Off (planning ahead!). Set up, clean up, lead a game or activity, serve food, decorate, send invitations, brainstorm event schedule. Usually held August or September.
For returning members only. Help with welcoming new members by serving as a point of contact for any new members with questions regarding Yahoo, website, or our group in general. Also help plan and coordinate a New Members Reception or other type of event for New Members. Park Days is being developed for connection of new members in different regions of Johnston County.
Meetings held for Moms and Dads to discuss different topics pertaining to homeschooling.
Chance for students to show off their talents that God has blessed them with, such as singing, dancing (Christ honoring family friendly apparel and lyrics.), art, photography, or drama..
Families choose a country to study, and come together to share what they’ve learned through exhibits, posters, food, presentations, etc.

A formal graduation ceremony for our seniors.
For Conference. Set up, clean up, signs/programs/ flyers, goodie bags, workshop assistants, registration table, advertising, etc. Spring/Summer
SERVICE GROUPS, ETC.
Active participants in these programs, clubs, and activities will be expected to lead and/or provide services.
YEARBOOK / SCHOOL PICTURES
Students learn about design and layout, photography, public speaking and team work. Ages 13 and up.
A club for young children to get together for activities like playdates and field trips.
Time for kids to compete against each other in events like the sack race, spoon/egg race, 50yd dash and 100 yd dash, etc..
If you plan to test your child with JCHE, you will have a job at testing. Sign up for specific jobs closer to testing dates which are typically two weekday mornings in mid-April
Plan, co-plan or lead a field trip, park days or activities for ages 8 and up
For students 9 years old and older who desire to learn to play a band instrument.
